“S” Cookies

Nana’s “S” Cookies

1 cup of sugar plus 2 tablespoons

8 oz of butter, room temperature

¼ cup of whole milk

2 large eggs

1 tablespoons of honey

1 teaspoon of lemon extract

4 ½ cups of all purpose flour

The grated zest of one lemon

 

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees.

Beat together the sugar and the butter. Add milk, eggs, honey, lemon extract and lemon zest. Slowly add in the flour. Form dough into disk, cover in plastic wrap, and place in the refrigerator for one hour.

Take 2 tablespoons of dough and roll into a small log about 6 inches long. Form to an “S” shape.

 

 

Place the cookies on a parchment paper lined cookie sheet about 2 inches apart. Bake for 18-23 minutes until a nice golden brown.

Makes about 18 cookies.
