Egg in a Hole

Egg in a Hole

4 slices of your favorite bread

4 eggs (room temperature)

Butter

Use the rim of a glass (or a cookie cutter) to cut out a circle from each slice of bread. Heat a pan (medium-low heat) and add a generous dab of butter. Place a slice of bread in the pan then crack an egg into the hole. Salt and pepper it. Cook for a minute and flip to cook the other side.

Larry’s tips: The trickiest part is regulating the heat so the bread doesn’t burn before the egg is cooked. Cook the reserved circles of bread in the pan as well. Use cookie cutters to make different shapes, such as hearts and stars.
